Ray received the 2012 Hickok Center Community Hero Award at a fundraising banquet to benefit the Hickok Center for Brain Injury. Rochester Police Officer, Anthony DiPonzio, who made a miraculous recovery after being shot in the back of the head in the line of duty, presented this year's award to Ray. Ray was recognized for his concussion awareness speaking engagements at schools state wide and for his work with Senator Nozzolio in getting the Concussion Management Awareness Act passed into law.

Ray being presented "The Hickok Hero Award" at the Traumatic Brain Injury Fundraising banquet in Rochester by Rochester Police Officer, Anthony DiPonzio. Anthony was the recipient of last year's award and has made a miraculous recovery after being shot in the head in the line of duty.
